After two years of intensive training in areas including botanical medicine, mind-body physiology, nutrition, and holistic clinical care, Dr. Jingduan Yang and Dr. Bettina Hebert added to their long lists of credentials the completion of a prestigious Integrative Medicine Fellowship at the University of Arizona in December of 2008.

Launched in 2000 by internationally-recognized integrative medicine pioneer Andrew Weil, M.D., the Center in Integrative Medicine Fellowship combines residential sessions in Tucson with a rigorous distance-learning program.

Board-certified in Psychiatry, Dr. Jingduan Yang serves as the Medical Director at the Tao Institute of Mind & Body Medicine.  He specializes in integrative psychiatry. Following his family tradition, he is also a fourth generation practitioner in the traditional Chinese medicine and acupuncture.

For more than 15 years, with his integrative approach he has helped many find relief and healing from conditions including chronic pain, stress disorders, depression, chronic fatigue, Lyme disease and women’s health issues.

"For a long time, my goal has been to treat the whole person instead of the disease. The research and clinical care I completed for my Integrative Medicine Fellowship goes perfectly with my daily work with patients at the Tao Institute of Mind & Body Medicine, which also offers a truly holistic healing approach," said Dr. Yang.

Dr. Bettina Herbert is board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, with additional expertise in utilizing body-centered and mind-body techniques for the diagnosis and treatment of neuromusculoskeletal complaints, chronic pain and chronic disease. Her focus includes health maintenance and disease prevention.

"Our practice centers on being as natural as possible – to call on non-surgical and non-medical treatments, where appropriate. At the same time by caring for the whole person through the mind-body-spirit model we are able to deal with difficult, complex, and chronic conditions." Dr. Jingduan Yang said.

Dr. Yang's integrative medical consultations are available at both Bryn Mawr  and Mount Laurel offices at the Tao Institute of Mind & Body Medicine.
