We believe most of mental and behavioral issues have causes that can be discovered and corrected without needing for long-term use of medications, enduring dysfunctions and/or disability.
We believe nature and nurture are equally important in the development of mental illnesses. Patients should be aware of genetic vulnerability of self; educated and empowered to control the environmental stressors, toxicities; and adopt a healthier life style.
We believe our patients should be treated as a whole person not an illness. We believe everyone’ challenge is unique and should be treated individually.
We believe that illness and disease is result of internal and long time build-up, and healing takes time and effort and is a process that requires individualized strategy, planning and execution of them. Both treating physicians and patients need to be patient and collaborative in this process.
We believe medications are useful in controlling life disrupting or life threatening symptoms before their root causes were found and treated. We believe medication should be used with greatest caution, as a short term as possible and as low dosage as possible to minimize long-term side effects and masking of the mental illness.
