Integrative Wellness and Anti-aging Medicine

Aging starts young. Stress, physical and emotional trauma, a poor lifestyle, as well as weak coping skills can all play an important role in the accelerated aging process.

Stress reduction, coping skills development, lifestyle modification, and dietary and herbal nourishments are crucial to a healthy aging process. People of all ages should begin to take care of their well-being and jumpstart an anti-aging process as soon as possible.

In the Tao wellness and anti-aging program, we provide services of natural supplements, acupuncture, herbal remedies, therapeutic massage, meditation, and life coaching. We help people recognize the factors in their life that produce negative impacts on the health of aging; provide treatments to eliminate accumulated negative energies and toxins caused by stress and life styles, and develop a strategy to promote a slower and healthier aging process.

As we emphasize the internal health of aging to make our clients feel younger, we also offer natural skin care and acupuncture face lift services that make clients look younger in a natural way without surgery.

Estheticians at Tao Institute use products developed by Dr. Christine Schrammek. Christine Schrammek Kosmetik offers a broad range of high quality caring, cleansing and special products. Dr. Schrammek expresses her company’s philosophy: The goal of our company is to develop best-quality cosmetical products and treatment methods that are in harmony with nature.

What is GREEN PEEL - Herbal Deep Peeling treatment? How does it work?

The Herbal Deep-Peeling is a medically developed skin regeneration with only pure natural plant ingredients, which has been worldwide recognized and proven as a highly safe and successful method of non-surgical procedure. The preparation is a compound of natural herbs without any chemical additives. It increases the blood circulation of the skin and causes the upper layers of the skin to peel off. The simulated blood circulation intensifies metabolism and induces the regeneration of the skin by production of new cells and collagen fibers.

Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) *

Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) was developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn and colleagues at the University of Massachusetts 30 years ago and now used in hundreds of major medical centers around the world. Through this program, based on stress physiology, mindfulness meditation, and yoga, you can learn to understand and work successfully with the stressors in your life — from chronic medical conditions, to work and school pressures, to family issues. Participants in major studies of MBSR at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital have shown significant reductions in chronic pain, anxiety and depression, and improvements in physical symptoms and vitality.  This curriculum can be tailored for individuals in psychotherapy, or offered in 6 to 8 sessions for medical patients.

Naturopathic Consultation

Naturopathic physicians (N.D.'s) are primary care practitioners, trained as specialists in preventative medicine and natural therapeutics. N.D.'s combine and individualize a wide variety of therapies based on a philosophy that acknowledges and encourages patients to be active participants in their own healthcare. A licensed naturopathic physician (N.D.) has attended a four-year, graduate level naturopathic medical school. The educational and clinical training has many similarities to that of medical doctors (MD) in the study of diagnosis. Naturopaths also have extensive training in the medicine fields of nutrition, herbal medicine, homeopathy, hydrotherapy and physical medicine. Naturopathic practitioners are trained to provide individual and family-oriented healthcare to all age groups - from pediatrics to geriatrics.

At the Tao Institute, our Naturopathic Medicine physician utilizes the most natural, least invasive and least toxic therapies. Our N.D. believes that the human body possesses the inherent ability to restore health, and the physician's role is to facilitate this process with the aid of natural, non-toxic therapies. Our naturopathic doctor looks beyond the symptoms to the underlying cause; view the body as an integrated whole in all its physical and spiritual dimensions; educate patients in the steps to achieving and maintaining health; focus on overall health, wellness and disease prevention.

Tao Yoga*

Tao Yoga is an ancient practice that originated over 3,000 years ago in China.  The wisdom of Tao Yoga utilizes gentle movement and postures, breath work, visualizations and meditation to bring the body, mind and spirit into perfect harmony and balance.  Tao Yoga awakens and strengthens the life force by removing energetic blockages along the meridians, or energy pathways of the body.  This freedom and activation of "Qi", or universal life energy can cultivate a greater sense of vitality, energy, inner peace, and healing.

At the Tao Institute, we embrace the philosophy of Tao Yoga and in addition integrate many different modalities to assist one who seeks balance and wellness.  Our certified Yoga teacher will create a yoga session that will reflect the needs of one's body, mind and spirit.  Classical yoga postures along with the use of props to help open the body; integration of breath and meditation experiences; the use of Qigong, Quantum touch and other energy techniques; and the power of vibrational healing through essential oils and therapeutic crystal bowls, will be integrated with the intention of Tao Yoga, to awaken and energize the life force for optimal healing.

Therapeutic Massage

Tao Institute treats the whole individual by affecting all levels of your being, rather than focusing on physical conditions. Movements are slow, meditative and rhythmic. Tai Chi and Sensory Awareness*

This discipline of attention, breathing, and movement can help you to contact and cultivate your own energy for vitality, healing, and calm. The variety of practices is exceedingly rich, from the fluid, full-body movements of Tai Chi Chuan to practices of concentration on inner energy. Sensory awareness is a Western form of practice that works quietly and gently with the physical and mental habits that mask our true connections to ourselves, our environment, and others. As you learn to experience directly what happens in each movement, breath, and daily action, you become more awake and able to find both rest and joy. Whatever your condition, there are practices to meet your needs.
