Bettina Herbert, MD Dr. Herbert is the lead physician of the Integrative Pain Management program at the Jefferson University Hospital Mryna Brind Center of Integrative Medicine. She is board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, with additional expertise in utilizing body-centered and mind-body techniques for the diagnosis and treatment of neuromusculoskeletal complaints, chronic pain and chronic disease. Her focus includes health maintenance and disease prevention.

Dr. Herbert’s treatment plans typically combine individualized assessments of body biomechanics, nutrition and lifestyle with a variety of hands-on therapies, including osteopathic manipulation, the Feldenkrais method, cranial osteopathy, viscerofascial manipulation, neural and brain tissue release. She utilizes these complementary techniques as well as SomatoEmotional Release and Heart-Centered Therapy TM to help patients attain greater peacefulness, lower pain levels, increased mobility and flexibility, and increased strength.

In addition to working with traditional patients, Dr. Herbert has successfully implemented this treatment approach to help numerous performing and fine artists, and athletes.

A graduate of Cornell University, Dr. Herbert received her medical degree from Michigan State University College of Human Medicine while taking additional training at the MSU College of Osteopathic Medicine.  She completed her residency training at Thomas Jefferson University in the department of Rehabilitation Medicine, where she currently is a clinical instructor. She graduated from the University of Arizona Program in Integrative Medicine as a Bravewell Fellow in 2008, and is also affiliated faculty at the Center for Organizational Dynamics at the University of Pennsylvania.
